Overview

With this half-day excursion to the historic sites of Perge and Aspendos, you'll step back in time to the era of togas and chariots. The most well-preserved Roman theatre is one of the attractions you'll find.
The historical city of Perge is first on the hit list. Around 1300 BC saw the founding of this bustling Roman port, which served as the starting point of St. Paul's missionary missions throughout the Mediterranean. Visit the ruins temples, market, and fountains on a guided tour, entering the triumphal Roman gate. Even the grooves left by chariot wheels may be seen in the flagstones on the main street, which is lined with columns. A 12,000-seat stadium and the remains of a Bronze Age acropolis are also present.
We then travel to Aspendos to witness one of the most well-preserved ancient theatres. With its ideal acoustics and capacity for 15,000 people, it was constructed 2,000 years ago into a steep hillside and is still used for operas and concerts today.
